Ura Kidane Mihret 聖マリア修道院、タナ湖畔

At a glance of Ura Kidane Mihret, it was one of the Lake Tana monasteries which were, many of them, funded in 14th century. Current building of this monastery was built in 16th century. Colorful paintings on the walls inside the building were created from 17th to 19th century. Thanks to COMESA and MoTransport Ethiopia.

青ナイルの源流、タナ湖畔に14世紀に創建された修道院が幾つか点在している。その中の一つ、タナ湖に突き出すZega半島の修道院へに行く機会があった。修道院内の建物は円形であり、その中に矩形の壁が現れ四方ともカラフルなペインティングで覆われている。

COMESA会議の終盤、タナ湖畔のエチオピア正教の修道院へのツアーがあり参加した。バハルダールBahir Darからフェリーボートで対岸のZega半島に位置する修道院Ura Kidane Mehret (St.Mary),へ行った、途中、パピルスのボートで移動する人も見かけた。会議は2016年2月18-23日だった。

バハルダールのエチオピア正教会、聖ゲオルギオス教会、門の上に白馬にまたがりドラゴン退治をする聖ゲオルギオス伝承が描かれている。会議の後、街に出てみた。2016年2月19日。
