2009年9月にドバイの都市鉄道、レッドライン（52km）が開通予定。本プロジェクト、三菱重工による世界最長の自動運転都市鉄道である。
このプロジェクトが成功すれば、サウジアラビアやカタールへも波及する見込み、このプロジェクトの意義は大きい。
